Benoît Jacquemin was born in the Liège area in 1975.
An organ and harpsichord player as well as composer, Benoît got numerous prices and degrees from the Mons and Brussels Conservatoriums such as organ, music history, writing, chamber music, etc.
His major interests drive him towards research in the fields of music analysis and history, organ and harpsichord recital playing as well as continuo. He travels through these domains as much in concerts as by giving conferences and writing articles on diversified subjects, following his passions and curiosity.
Benoît Jacquemin teaches at the Académie of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean and at the Académie of Anderlecht. He is assistant in harmony at the Brussels Royal Conservatorium. He provides his collaboration to the Monnaie Royal Theater and the Bozar Music by introducing concerts to the public. He is a musical critic for the Crescendo magazine. As a composer he has written several pieces. His String Quartet – a tribute to Purcell – a broad piece in four movements will be created in June 2008. He works at the moment on a cycle of melodies on Dylan Thomas’ writings.
